How a mother is like Jesus

Updated: Jan 19, 2023

“This is my body, given up for you.” Jesus A mother offers her body when she is open to life. A mother offers her body when she carries her baby within her for nine months. A mother offers her body when she suffers nausea/vomiting, back and belly pain, and a myriad of other discomforts while pregnant. A mother offers her body when she denies herself certain things during pregnancy. A mother offers her body while she goes through the pain of labor. A mother offers her body while she goes through the dangers of giving birth. A mother offers her body while she goes through the trauma of miscarriage or stillbirth. A mother offers her body after the pain of recovery from birth or C-section. A mother offers her body while nursing her baby. A mother offers her body as she draws a motherless child to herself and adopts him as her own. A mother offers her body as she spends sleepless nights rocking and comforting her little one. A mother offers her body as she tends to a sick child, even though she knows she may get sick herself. A mother offers her body as she gets on her knees in prayer for a wayward, hurting, ill, or suffering child. A mother offers her body as her hands cook, clean, drive, wash, mend, comfort, love and give.

This is my body,

given up for you,

her actions say to her child….

and they speak louder than words.
